About Jeff

Jeff founded this firm after leading another Rockville, Maryland law firm for 18 years, and practicing law in Rockville for approximately 26 years. Jeff's offices in Rockville and Towson, Maryland (the sites of the Circuit Courts for Montgomery and Baltimore Counties). Jeff brings a wealth of experience to your bear when evaluating the legal issues you are facing.

Jeff has been practicing law in Maryland and the District of Columbia since 1991 and in Virginia since 1993. His practice is focused on commercial litigation and general business law. Jeff represents companies from the D.C. metropolitan area as well as companies based throughout the United States and around the world.

Jeff’s commercial litigation matters range from complex litigation in the United States District Courts in the region, to simple contract disputes in the local state courts of general jurisdiction. He has handled cases of all types, sizes, and complexities over the past two decades. Sometimes it's "bet the company" litigation where the entire survival of the business is at risk, and sometimes it's merely bringing suit to hold a contractor or customer to task. Whatever the matter, Jeff is careful to properly analyze the dispute at issue and handle the matter in the most efficient and economical way possible.

Jeff often acts as "outside general counsel" to many local companies in various lines of business. His clients have included: construction companies, home improvement contractors, computer networking companies, software companies, realtors, commercial printing companies, government contractors, public relations firms, medical practices, and many other types of businesses. In his role as outside general counsel, Jeff is often called upon to review leases, contracts, non-disclosure agreements, employment agreements, employee handbooks, purchase orders (and other commonly used forms) and to generally advise companies in regard to their day-to-day legal issues, customer disputes, and whatever other issues are of concern.

A particular focus of Jeff's litigation practice involves litigation of restrictive employment covenants (non-competition and non-solicitation clauses). Jeff has represented both employees and employers in this often contentious type of dispute.

Jeff received his undergraduate degree in political communications from the George Washington University in 1988 and his law degree from George Washington University National Law Center in 1991. Jeff is licensed to practice before all of the state and federal courts in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
